The Books
One Day
‘I can imagine you at forty,’ she said, a hint of malice in her voice. ‘I can picture it right now.’
He smiled without opening his eyes. ‘Go on then.’
15th July 1988. Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways.
So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year which follows?
One Day is a funny/sad love story spanning twenty years, a book about growing up – how we change, how we stay the same...
The Understudy
For Josh Harper, being in show business means money, fame, a beautiful wife and a lead role on the London stage. For Stephen C McQueen it means a disastrous career playing passers-by and dead people.
Stephen’s stuck with an unfortunate name, a hopeless agent, a daughter he barely knows and a job as an understudy to Josh Harper, officially the 12th sexiest man in the world. And when Stephen falls in love with Josh’s clever, funny wife Nora, things get even more difficult.
Starter For Ten
It's 1985 and Brian Jackson has arrived at university with a burning ambition - to make it onto TV's foremost general knowledge quiz. But no sooner has he embarked on 'The Challenge' than he finds himself falling hopelessly in love with his teammate, the beautiful and charismatic would-be actress, Alice Harbinson. When Alice fails to fall for his slightly over-eager charms, Brian comes up with a foolproof plan to capture her heart once and for all. He's going to win the game, at any cost, because - after all - everyone knows that what a woman really wants from a man is a comprehensive grasp of general knowledge . . . STARTER FOR TEN is a comedy about love, class, growing-up and the all-important difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Paperback publication day!
Thursday 4th February, paperback publication day! And also, I notice, a full two months since I promised to update my blog. Actually, the publication of the paperback is a strange sort of non-event for an author, as I’m never quite sure what I’m meant to do. Go to bookshops and sort of…hang around?
